The long-anticipated Gunnison Valley Observatory telescope has arrived and is operational. Our grand opening celebration on Friday, June 27th was an awesome event. Thanks to all the volunteers and donors who made it happen! We couldn't have done it without you! Public viewing through the new telescope and a variety of "support" telescopes will be available this evening Saturday June 28th. For those who can't make it to the festivities on Saturday, public viewing through the main telescope will be available on Sunday evening, June 29th as well. The Observatory will be open for viewing on every Friday night during July and August, except July 4, and on September 5 and 21 and October 3. Also, on the Saturdays of July 26, August 23, September 6 and October 4 there will be Astronomy Lecture Series presentations along with public viewing. Carpe Noctem - Seize the Night!
